Companion Care Provider
Job Summary: Provide companion care and other assistance in the client’s home based on an established hourly schedule.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Driver’s license, reliable and insured vehicle.
- Agree to comprehensive background screening.
- Agree to pre and post employment drug screening.
- Agree to complete new employee orientation and on-line training.
- Agree to attend monthly in-service training and additional on-line training.
- Agree to follow all company policies and directives.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional patience and ability to handle challenging circumstances.
- Ability to be flexible.
- Composure to handle emergency circumstances.
- Ability to document and report changes in client or surroundings.
- No limiting injuries or impairments (No ADA accommodations in client homes).
- Exceptional integrity and passion for providing quality care.
- Highly reliable attendance and timeliness.
Essential Functions: Provide support and assistance with everyday activities that enable a client to enjoy the comfort, safety and privacy of their own home. Drive clients to/from local destinations. Communicate effectively with clients and office staff.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Primarily in the home of the client; secondarily in a vehicle or local destination such as a doctor’s office. Routinely requires moderate physical exertion due to light housekeeping, client transfer or ambulation, standing, sitting, kneeling or crouching. Lifting limited to 25 pounds.
Compensation: Paid for actual hours worked and mileage driven with client; paid travel fee for trip to/from client’s home; paid vacation (FT and PT); access to group health insurance rates; AFLAC, EAP, discount buying programs. Eligible to receive major incentives for recruiting new clients or caregivers.
