Companion Care Provider

Job Summary:  Provide companion care and other assistance in the client’s home based on an established hourly schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Driver’s license, reliable and insured vehicle.
  • Agree to comprehensive background screening.
  • Agree to pre and post employment drug screening.
  • Agree to complete new employee orientation and on-line training.
  • Agree to attend monthly in-service training and additional on-line training.
  • Agree to follow all company policies and directives.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional patience and ability to handle challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Composure to handle emergency circumstances.
  • Ability to document and report changes in client or surroundings.
  • No limiting injuries or impairments (No ADA accommodations in client homes).
  • Exceptional integrity and passion for providing quality care.
  • Highly reliable attendance and timeliness.

Essential Functions: Provide support and assistance with everyday activities that enable a client to enjoy the comfort, safety and privacy of their own home.  Drive clients to/from local destinations.  Communicate effectively with clients and office staff.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Primarily in the home of the client; secondarily in a vehicle or local destination such as a doctor’s office.  Routinely requires moderate physical exertion due to light housekeeping, client transfer or ambulation, standing, sitting, kneeling or crouching.  Lifting limited to 25 pounds.

Compensation:  Paid for actual hours worked and mileage driven with client; paid travel fee for trip to/from client’s home; paid vacation (FT and PT); access to group health insurance rates; AFLAC, EAP, discount buying programs.  Eligible to receive major incentives for recruiting new clients or caregivers.
